A hunger for knowledge about art has taken Janine Good on a creative life journey exploring various artistic styles in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking and Sculpture, completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Monash University in 2001.
Her current body of work explores informal Rituals of Australian contemporary life. Themes explored have included the flamboyance of a country Racing day, a melancholy funeral memorial on a remote beach and documentation of Melbourne’s vibrant music scene capturing the movement, energy and colour of a contemporary band.
This last theme won the Dick Bishop Memorial Award at Latrobe Regional Gallery in 2013.
Janine has exhibited consistently since 1986 at venues in Melbourne, Regional Victoria and USA. She has been a Finalist in some prestigious exhibitions including the John Leslie Prize at Gippsland Art Gallery, the Waterhouse Prize at the South Australian Museum, The Churchie Prize for Emerging Art in Brisbane and St Michaels Archangel Prize in Melbourne. She has works in Public and Private Collections in Australia and USA.
Janine is currently the painting teacher at Living Learning in Pakenham and has been since 2006.
