 Sue Jarvis

Sue Jarvis was born and raised in the industrial and now multicultural city of Greater Dandenong in Melbourne’s south east. Sue was a major prizewinner at the Dandenong Festival of Music and Art for Youth, and went on to become an Art Teacher and Artist.

Much of her current work centres around the changing nature of the city, with an emphasis on colour, shape and simplicity to express an interest in the everyday.

A keen photographer, some of her works have been produced for the City of Greater Dandenong, others as ideas for future paintings.

All her paintings relate to contemporary life or socio-political issues. Of late she has been concentrating on the built environment but more particularly, the interaction of people within it, especially during the construction process. This also examines to the impacts of construction on rural and semi-rural environments. Sue is increasingly being sought to judge Art Shows at a community and professional level.
